It is not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves.

Cloudland Canyon State Park
By a lot of people's standards, my trip to Cloudland Canyon State Park was probably a failure. My health being what it is, I could do maybe a mile hike and then be out for the rest of the day. But guess what! My idea of a successful vacation is making memories with my family while enjoying nice views. The above photo was maybe a five-minute walk from my cabin, and my family was the kind of chaotic mess that always leads to lots of laughter. I also had the chance to see fireflies at night for the first time I can remember, which was very exciting!!!
I also might have started and finished an outline for a new story. It'll likely be published before the mermaid one due to when the best time to publish certain genres is, too. I don't want to give too much away, but let's just say it's "historical fantasy meets spy thriller."
Now, time for some more book suggestions while you wait for my next novel...
The Last Stitch
One magical pendant. Two enemies bound by fate. A love that could unravel history itself.
Oxford graduate student Lily Whitmore inherits her grandmother's mysterious hourglass pendant, she's catapulted into Victorian England, where magic is forbidden and those who wield it are erased from existence. But Lily isn't just any time traveler. She's a Weaver, capable of rewriting the very threads of fate.
Enter August Hawthorne: witch hunter, sworn to erase Weavers from existence. Cold. Calculating. Devastatingly beautiful. And bound by duty. Every clash between him and this mysterious woman strips away another layer of his merciless exterior, revealing the tortured soul he's desperate to hide. He should be her hunter. Instead, the witch he's sworn to destroy is unraveling everything he believed about magic, duty, and himself.
As magic bleeds from the world around them, Lily faces an impossible choice: embrace her power and save the Weavers, knowing she'll never see home again, or let magic die forever and watch the man who owns her heart become just another casualty of history.
Some threads bind tighter when pulled. And some enemies are destined to become everything.
The Last Stitch is a romantasy that blends the time-travel wonder of Outlander, the witchy magic of A Discovery of Witches, and the sizzling enemies-to-lovers chemistry readers crave.

Wings and Fangs
Wings and Fangs is the first book in the Supernatural Legacies planned trilogy where we are introduced to Roxanne Crowfoot, a wolf shifter, nephilim as the main character. Wings and Fangs is grittier, wittier, and more action packed than the Midlife Supernaturals and Oracle Chronicle books where Roxy is a side character.
Look, I never wanted to be a cop let alone work for an agency that used to hunt monsters like me. However, there seemed to be no place for me in my pack. Especially because I didn't take orders well from my dad or my aunt…and I have too much of my abjured mother’s looks to be accepted. Same went for working for mundane corporations. One little territorial growl, and I'd be in HR, explaining it was my culture.
So, I took up the International Supernatural Enforcement Agencies’ offer to be among the first supernaturals among them. Because they kept the hard cases for the experienced agents, my days of a rookie I.S.E.A. agent bordered on the ludicrous but were never boring.
However, when a rash of ritualistic wolf shifter murders spreads across the country and spans across the borders, Director Tan thinks my partner Jada and I would be perfect for the case.
Why two rookies? Because my I'm a wolf shifter of Fenrir's line through my mother. Which means my ancestors made a deal with the god to become what we are today. I have that in common with the murder victims.
Also, on a scary note? I can't shake the terrible feeling Fenrir was calling me to cash in on my ancestor’s deal.
So, did my father, the son of the Archangel Gabriel. He's concerned enough to pass down his sword from the angelic wars for protection. Igni can light with angelfire, and she also likes to scream her righteous indignation in my head, ad nauseum.
As Jada and I work the case, we discover there is a cult behind the murders and they’re not just any cult. They claim to be the group embodiment of Lif and Lifthrasir—the people who will live through Ragnarök. In case you haven’t heard, that’s when a giant snake devours our little third rock from the sun. The cult even has nifty leaders who want to be gods, and the sacrificial murders are leveling them up to take on the Aesir.
Lucky us, the Aesir have assigned a gorgeous Valkyrie named Bryn to help us out. Not sure if I can trust her. Jada certainly doesn’t. Especially since I've kissed Bryn before I knew who she was, and she appears whenever I’m in danger. Not complicated at all.
So, from wrangling giant multi-dimensional vermin frying pan into the stop the world from ending fire, I must jump. Maybe if I get burned to a crisp, Igni will shut up in my head.
